A NASA source told Ars Technica on condition of anonymity that the Boeing Starliner is planned to bring astronauts back to Earth from the space station. However, it has also refused to comment on the issue that Boeing’s Starliner could collide with the space station.

In an interview with Business Insider, noted Harvard astronomer Jonathan McDowell explained that such a failure is among the possibilities.
“If you’re taking a Boeing airliner off the International Space Station and you use more than a certain amount of thrust on your thrusters, there’s a chance you’re going to crash into the space station,” he said.
