Rawalpindi: 6 Khawarij were killed in an exchange of fire with terrorists who tried to attack a check post in Bannu, while 12 soldiers were martyred.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on November 19, Khawarij tried to attack a joint check post in the Malikhel area of Bannu district, during which 6 Khawarij were martyred.
Due to effective resistance from the security forces, the Khawarij could not enter the check post, on which they rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the outer wall of the check post. As a result of the suicide blast, a part of the wall collapsed and the surrounding infrastructure was also affected.
12 brave souls were martyred in the suicide blast, including 10 security forces personnel and 2 Frontier Constabulary personnel.
According to the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, a clearance operation is underway in the area and those responsible for this heinous act will be brought to justice. Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies are determined to eradicate terrorism. These sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
