After the resignation of Sheikh Hasina Wajid in Bangladesh, protesters set fire to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s residence in Dhaka.
According to local media, protesters in Bangladesh set fire to the headquarters of the Awami League, the protesters shouted slogans against Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League and took away various items including furniture from the building.
Protesters also set fire to Sheikh Mujib’s personal residence in Dhaka, 32 Dhan Mandi, which is now the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, another group torched the Awami League’s Dhaka-based district office.
It may be recalled that 32 Dhan Mandi is the personal residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka and this is where he was assassinated on August 15, 1975 during a military coup.
Apart from this, the protesters entered the Prime Minister’s House and looted and took whatever they could get their hands on. In various videos, the protesters were seen eating fish and biryani in the Prime Minister’s House, while some people were seen resting on the Prime Minister’s bed. .
Many protesters also picked up fish, goats and ducks, which they carried with them.
