Armed terrorists killed 7 passengers after taking them off a bus on the national highway in Balochistan.
This tragic incident took place on the national highway in Barkhan’s Union Council Ridkan, where armed terrorists took them off a bus going from Quetta to Lahore and killed 7 passengers.
According to Levies sources, armed terrorists entered a bus going from Quetta to Lahore on the national highway and first checked the identity cards, and took 7 passengers off and took them with them.
As soon as the information was received, the district administration stopped the passenger vehicles from proceeding further to Loralai and sent a heavy contingent of security forces to the scene.
Barkhan Levies have recovered the bodies of 7 passengers from a mountainous area near Union Council Ridkan.
The bodies have been shifted to Civil Hospital Rukni, from where preparations are being made to send them to their native areas after identification.
Deputy Commissioner Barkhan has confirmed that the passenger bus was going from Quetta to Lahore, which was targeted on the highway connecting Quetta with Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab’s Rakhni tehsil of Barkhan.
He said that the armed men stopped the passenger bus and after checking the identity cards of the passengers, they disembarked 7 passengers belonging to Punjab, and later shot them dead.
According to Deputy Commissioner Barkhan, the armed men also fired at the tires of the bus when the passengers did not stop.
After this incident, the administration has stopped passenger buses and vehicles at various places in Loralai, Kangri and nearby areas as a precaution.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti expressed grief over the incident and condoled with the families of the deceased, saying that the brutal killing of innocent passengers by terrorists in Barkhan district is a condemnable act.
The Balochistan government spokesman said that security forces are continuing to pursue the terrorists, and the elements involved in the incident will be brought to justice.
It should be noted that earlier on August 26, 2024, 23 people were shot dead after being taken off trucks and passenger buses in the Rara Sham area of Moosa Khel district of Balochistan.
Assistant Commissioner Najeeb Kakar had said that armed men set up a roadblock on the inter-provincial highway, took passengers off the buses, and shot dead 23 people after being identified.
