The Australian cricket team suffered another major setback before the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy.
Australia’s aggressive batsman Matthew Short was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury on Monday. Cooper Connolly has been included in the Australian squad in place of Matthew Short. Cooper Connolly has played 3 ODIs for Australia.
It should be noted that Kiwi captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Hazlewood and Mitchell Marsh have also been ruled out of the Champions Trophy.
On the other hand, the ICC’s Event Technical Committee has approved changes to the Australian squad. It should be noted that the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy will be played between Australia and India tomorrow.
