Islamabad: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief assured the government to vote on the constitutional amendment.
According to sources, the deadlock between the government and Maulana Fazlur Rahman has ended.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman issued instructions to the party senators and said that JUI senators should support the draft and vote in the National Assembly as well.
JUIF chief said that we will support the draft that will be presented on which we were consulted.
Earlier, the 26th constitutional amendment was also approved in an important meeting of the federal cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Before the federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with President Asif Ali Zardari in which detailed consultations were held on the constitutional amendment and the President was taken into confidence.
Speaking after the meeting, Federal Minister Mossadegh Malik said that the government has approved its draft, the cabinet approved the draft which was made by the PPP, the government and the coalition parties.
