Lahore: With the suspension from world football’s governing body FIFA ending, Pakistan got good news, the team will be seen in action during the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers scheduled in Saudi Arabia this month.
A Pakistan Football Federation official confirmed that the team will travel to Saudi Arabia to participate in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers.
It is worth mentioning that FIFA had imposed a suspension on the Pakistan Football Federation on February 5 this year when the PFF Congress members failed to amend the constitution as per the prescribed criteria.
The necessary constitutional amendments were approved after consensus among the members at the PFF Congress held in Lahore 3 days ago.
An official confirmed that FIFA has officially informed them of the lifting of the suspension, after which the process of Pakistan football’s revival at the global level has begun.
The first test of the national team’s capabilities will be in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. The qualifiers for the Asian event will be played on a home-and-away basis, with Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan and Myanmar in Group E.
Pakistan will begin their AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifying campaign with a match against Syria on March 25, which will be played in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia.
