ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad has fixed for preliminary hearing the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for action against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others in the context of the November 24 protest.
Sessions Judge Azam Khan has fixed December 23 for preliminary hearing in the case of the alleged deaths and disappearances of PTI workers during the protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad.
The local court in the federal capital ordered the complainant to appear at the next hearing.
Yesterday, PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar had filed a prosecution in the court against the current government.
Barrister Gauhar filed a private complaint against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others in which Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif have been made parties.
Apart from this, the Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security and unknown persons have also been made parties.
Barrister Gauhar provided a list of 12 workers who allegedly died in his application, in addition to which a list of 38 workers who were injured by him has also been attached with the application.
The application also lists the names of 139 missing workers. The prosecution requested that the criminal complaint be accepted and non-bailable warrants be issued for the Prime Minister and other parties, including him, to be summoned and punished according to law.
