Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the Army Public School (APS) tragedy shook the conscience of the nation and united it against the scourge of terrorism.
In a message on the anniversary of the APS Peshawar tragedy, Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the nation will remain steadfast in the fight against terrorism and will make the coming generations safe. The APS tragedy is one of the darkest chapters in the country’s history. I also salute the courage and bravery of the families of the martyred students and staff members.
Bilawal Bhutto further said that the federal and provincial governments should ensure effective implementation of the National Action Plan so that such tragedies can be avoided in the future. The root causes of extremism must be addressed through education, economic opportunities and social harmony. The PPP is committed to eliminating terrorism and promoting tolerance, education and peace across the country.
“Let us pledge today, on the anniversary of this tragic day, to continue our struggle for a Pakistan free from terrorism. A Pakistan where every child can dream and realize their potential without fear,” he said.
