MUMBAI: Bollywood legend and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that he used to smoke and drink alcohol and also eat meat in the past.
A years-old interview of Amitabh Bachchan has been re-published on the Indian media in which he openly discussed his past habits.
Amitabh Bachchan had said that I do not smoke, do not drink alcohol and do not eat meat.
The actor said that my father was a vegetarian but my mother also ate meat, similarly my wife Jaya eats meat but I don’t eat meat because I don’t like its taste.
He said that my habits were completely different in my youth, I used to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol and eat meat.
Amitabh Bachchan said, “When I was living in Kolkata, I used to smoke 200 cigarettes a day and that was normal for me, but after moving to Mumbai, I gave up smoking and drinking habits and then father Like had become a vegetarian.
The actor also said that what made it difficult to quit eating meat was that it was difficult for me to find vegetarian food when I was shooting abroad.
It should be noted that Amitabh Bachchan’s father Harivansh Roy Bachchan was a famous Hindi poet, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1976, while the actor’s mother Teji Bachchan was a social activist from a Sikh family.
