The Sukkur Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced all the accused to life imprisonment and heavy fine in the murder case of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro.
Judge Abdul Rehman Qazi of the Sukkur Anti-Terrorism Court delivered the reserved summary judgment in the JUI leader Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro murder case on December 13.
The court sentenced all six accused Hanif Bhutto, Mushtaq Mehar, Altaf Jamali, Lutf Jamali, Sarang and Darya Khan Jamali to life imprisonment and heavy fine upon conviction.
The court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment on the murder and terrorism charges, and 7 and 7 years on the arms charge.
All the accused have been lodged in the Central Jail since 2014.
It should be noted that in November 2014, Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro, Secretary General of the Sindh chapter of JUI-F, was shot dead by attackers in a mosque adjacent to Madrasa Haqqania in the Site Area of Sukkur while he was offering Fajr prayers.
