ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to cooperate in counter-terrorism and other fields.
Ambassador of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Pachaji met Federal Minister of Interior and Anti-Narcotics Mohsin Naqvi at the Ministry of Interior, in which the relations between the two countries and matters of mutual interest were discussed in detail. In the meeting, it was agreed to increase cooperation in the fields of counter-terrorism, police and civil armed forces.
The two leaders also agreed to increase the number of flights between Pakistan and Turkey during the talks.
On this occasion, the ambassador of Turkey strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Balochistan and said that Turkey was also facing terrorism some time ago. Turkey overcame terrorism and things are better now. He also offered all possible cooperation regarding counter-terrorism.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan as a nation has made indelible sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Every section including Pakistan Army, Police, Rangers, FC has made history in this war by giving blood. We will welcome Turkey’s cooperation in counter-terrorism.
He said that he will visit in October at the invitation of the Turkish government, in which he will propose measures to further strengthen mutual cooperation. We want to strengthen the ideal brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey. Pakistanis consider Turkey as their second home.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated Dr. Mehmet Pachaji’s services in promoting bilateral relations and congratulated him on his appointment as Special Envoy to OIC to combat Islamophobia. He expressed good wishes for the new appointment and future of the ambassador of Turkey.
