Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan and his ex-wife and director Kiran Rao’s famous film Missing Ladies could not make it to the Oscars.
Missing Ladies could not be included in the shortlist for the Best International Feature Film of the Oscars 2025 and has been excluded from the Oscars list. While Guneet Monga Kapoor’s film ‘Anuja’ has made it to the Live Action Short Film category, which is a story of child labor based on the compulsion of children working in the garment industry.
On the other hand, the British film ‘Santosh’ has also made it to the list of Best International Feature Film.
It may be recalled that Missing Ladies was selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars in September 2024, in which the story of the social life of two young brides is presented. The story of this film directed by Kiran Rao is based on a story by Biplab Goswami, and stars Ravi Kishan, Nitinshi Goyal, and Pratibha Ranta in the lead roles.
