A meeting of the Central Royat Hilal Committee will be held today in Quetta to see the moon of Muharram 1446 Hijri.
According to the notification of the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting of the Central Viewing Hilal Committee for sighting the moon of Muharram will be held in Deputy Commissioner Complex Quetta under the chairmanship of Chairman Viewing Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Members of the central Sighting Hilal Committee and Zonal Sighting Hilal Committee Quetta will participate in the meeting chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir.
Apart from this, meetings of zonal committees will also be held in Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar and other areas.
The final decision on the sighting of the moon of Muharram 1446 Hijri will be made by the Chairman Rawat Hilal Committee. If the moon is visible, 1st of Muharram will be on Sunday, and if it is not visible, 1st of Muharram will be on Monday, July 8.
It should be remembered that the 1st of Muharram in Saudi Arabia is likely to be on Sunday, while the Meteorological Department has predicted that the moon will not be seen in Pakistan today, in this sense, the 1st of Muharram is likely to be on Monday.
On the other hand, the Capital City Police in Peshawar has finalized the Muharram security plan, 14 thousand police officers and personnel will perform security duties during Muharram.
More than 1,000 police personnel will be deployed to keep the traffic flowing. A command and control center equipped with modern facilities has been established for Muharram. According to the police, the checking process has been tightened at all entrances and exits of the city.
