Dozens of Pakistanis who drowned in the Greek boat accident are still missing, which has been confirmed by the Pakistani ambassador.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Greece Amir Aftab said while holding a press conference that the embassy will send the bodies of the Pakistanis who died in the boat accident to Pakistan at its own expense.
He said that dozens of Pakistanis are still missing in the boat accident. Rescue operations are still ongoing at the accident site, but hopes of survival of the missing people have died.
According to Amir Aftab, there were Pakistanis on board 5 boats illegally from Libya. The accident occurred due to the number of people on board the boats being more than required. The boat in which the Pakistanis were on board first developed a crack inside, which caused the boat to sink. There were 80 Pakistanis on board.
He said that a large number of the missing Pakistanis are young children.
