London: A scientific study recently published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine has determined how much exercise might be needed to reverse the risk of early death in a person due to prolonged sitting. .
The study analyzed data from thousands of participants and found that 30-40 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise per day was enough to reduce the increased risk of death from prolonged sitting.
According to research, 40 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity every day can offset the losses of sitting for about 10 hours.
The researchers explained in their paper that the risk of death due to about 30-40 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity in sedentary people was as low as in people who did not sit at all for long periods of time.
