South Africa scored 174 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs while batting first at the invitation of West Indies in the first match of the ongoing T20 series at the Brian Lara Stadium.
Tristan Stubbs was outstanding for the Proteas by scoring 76 runs. Patrick Kruger 44, captain Aiden Markram 14, Donovan Ferreira 8, Reci van der Dusen 5, Ryan Rickleton 4 and Reeza Hendricks scored 4 runs.
Jorn Fortun 11 and Kuina Mafaka returned to the pavilion not out scoring 1 run.
For West Indies, Matthew Ford took 3 wickets, Shamar Joseph took 2 wickets while Aqeel Hussain and Romario Shepherd took 1 and 1 wicket respectively.
