Srinagar: An Indian Army officer was killed in the firing by armed men in Occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, unknown gunmen targeted a sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force in Udhampur district of Jannat Nazir valley.
The officer was hit by more than 5 bullets and was shifted to a nearby hospital where he failed to recover during treatment. Doctors say that the cause of death was excessive bleeding.
The officer killed in the attack has been identified as Kuldeep Singh. The body was sent to the native area after necessary operations.
Kashmir Police has registered a case in the name of unknown armed persons and started investigation, but no arrests have been made so far.
The deceased officer was posted in Ram Nagar area of Udhampur district. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
It should be noted that the entire valley has been turned into a prison since the dark initiative of the Modi government to abolish the special status of Kashmir and make it a federal unit.
The recently held elections were boycotted by passionate Kashmiris over which the Modi government was upset and stepped up state operations.
