LAHORE: The Punjab Cabinet approved the purchase of 27 quadcopters for counter-terrorism operations.
According to the spokesperson of Punjab Interior Department, the Provincial Cabinet has approved Rs 21.4 million for the purchase of modern quadcopters based on the summary of the interior department regarding the purchase of modern quadcopters.
It has been decided to procure 20 surveillance quadcopters for Attock, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Leh, DG Khan, Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan. 7 payload carrying quadcopters will also be taken for Mianwali, DG Khan, Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan. Payload-carrying quadcopters can fire 2 80mm mortar shells at a target at a time.
Interior Secretary Punjab says that they are providing ample resources against terrorists and criminal elements. It will help in establishing the rule of law in the slums and border areas.
