TEHRAN: The Revolutionary Guards have released details of the projectile used to assassinate the head of Hamas’ political wing, Ismail Haniyeh, in a Tehran guesthouse, and reiterated that it will be retaliated against.
According to the Reuters news agency, the Revolutionary Guards said that Ismail Haniyeh was martyred by a short-range projectile with a 7 kg warhead.
Revolutionary Guards said in the statement that Ismail Haniyeh will be avenged in the worst way but at the right time, place and in the right way and once again blamed the Zionist terrorist state of Israel for this attack.
The Iranian force said in a statement that the “criminal American regime” was supporting the attack.
Iran and Hamas have already blamed Israel for the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, who was martyred in a guest house after the inauguration of new president Masoud al-Mezkiyan in Tehran.
Earlier, the American newspaper New York Times reported in a report with reference to sources that Ismail Haniyeh was martyred by a bomb blast and the bomb was installed in the aforementioned room of the guest house months ago.
On the other hand, Israel has not formally accepted the responsibility of this incident, however, sources in the New York Times report also confirmed Israel’s involvement.
Meanwhile, the British newspaper Telegraph revealed in the report that Ismail Haniyeh was targeted by the Mossad intelligence agency of Israel with the help of Iranian agents and explosive materials were installed in 3 rooms of the guest house he was using with the help of Iranian security personnel.
