Rawalpindi: Jamaat-e-Islami accepted the government’s offer during the ongoing sit-in in Rawalpindi and formed a 4-member committee headed by Naib Amir Liaquat Baloch for negotiations today.
Federal Minister for Information and Government delegation including Tariq Fazal Chaudhry met Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman during the Jamaat-e-Islami sit-in for the relief of the people in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh.
According to the spokesperson of Jamaat-e-Islami, the government delegation requested the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami to end the sit-in immediately, which Jamaat-e-Islami rejected, but Hafiz Naeemur Rehman agreed to negotiate on the government’s proposal.
He said that government representative Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry reached the sit-in and met Hafiz Naeem and Liaqat Baloch and said that I have come to invite and the talks will be held today.
He said that the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation for the talks includes Naib Amir Liaquat Baloch, Secretary General Amir-ul-Azeem Syed Farast Shah and Nasrullah Randhawa.
Spokesman Jamaat-e-Islami said that Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar was also included in the government delegation.
He said that the 4-member committee will hold talks with the government today (July 28), but the time and place will be announced later.
