Rawalpindi: After the death of an inmate in Adiala Jail under mysterious circumstances, the inmate’s father filed a murder case against the jail administration.
Shahid Bhatti, the father of 22-year-old Shahid Bhatti, who is on judicial remand in Adiala Jail in the case of murder, filed a case of murder against the jail administration in Sadiqabad Police Station for the death of his son. My son was arrested on June 10 and transferred to Pradiala Jail on judicial remand. On July 8, the son’s bail was granted after his arrest, but a few days ago, the son had a quarrel with an inmate named Saim, in which the prison administration filed a case against the son and others.
The father added that on July 8, I was informed over the phone that his son’s health had deteriorated. When he reached the District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi, the son’s body was there. I am sure that the jail administration has killed my son Shahviz along with the opponents. I went to meet my son on July 4 and was not allowed to meet him, but I was allowed to meet him because of my noise. The son said that the administration has locked him in Kasuri mill and his life is in danger. A case of murder should be registered against the prison administration.
The police have registered a case of murder and started investigation. On the other hand, on the mysterious death of a prisoner in the jail, a judicial inquiry will also be started by conducting an autopsy of the victim.
