Islamabad: On the orders of the Islamabad High Court, the KP Police has registered a case against former Commandant Mehsood Scouts Colonel Mujahid Hussain for the kidnapping of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa citizen Haroon Muhammad, who has been missing for 15 years.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition filed for the recovery of Haroon Muhammad, a citizen of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who has been missing for 15 years. The Deputy Attorney General submitted the copy of the FIR in the Islamabad High Court.
The FIR also mentions the responsible officers attached to secret agencies, the case of the 2009 incident at Jamrod police station was registered after 15 years.
The federal government has sought four weeks’ time to pay Rs 30 lakh compensation to the family of the missing person. The court accepted the federal government’s request for more time to pay the compensation.
The court remarked that if the compensation is not paid, the salaries of the secretary of defense and the secretary of finance will be attached. On the previous hearing, the court had ordered the federal government to pay 3 million compensation to the father of the missing citizen.
Iman Mazari Advocate said that the petitioner’s family is still receiving threats, on which the court adjourned the hearing of the case for three weeks while ordering to ensure the security of the petitioner.
