KARACHI: Rain has wreaked havoc in various cities and districts of Sindh, the previous 77-year record of rainfall was broken in Sukkur where 263 mm of rain was recorded in 4 spells in 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours, 169 mm of rain has fallen in Khairpur, 123 mm in Larkana, 119 mm in Moinjo Daro, 119 mm in Rohri, 99 mm in Jacobabad and 75 mm in Dadu.
Heavy rains have affected the irrigation system, while the drainage system is also overflowing in many areas, due to which rice, cotton, dates and other crops have suffered a lot.
Due to the rains, the ancient monuments of Mohenjodaro were also damaged, the walls and other places started to weaken due to the mud flowing from the archeology.
A 7-year-old boy, Jawad, drowned in the water collected in the house due to non-drainage of rainwater in Ganjanabad Yar Muhammad Colony of Larkana city, which created chaos in the house.
