Srinagar: A total of 5 Kashmiri youth martyrs and 2 army personnel were killed in two separate incidents in occupied Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a raid team consisting of the Indian Army, paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and local police searched houses in Modargam village of Kulgam district of Jannat Nazir Valley under the guise of a so-called search operation.
The spokesperson of the Indian Army says that during the search operation, firing was fired at the personnel from a house, as a result of which one soldier was killed. In response, this house was destroyed. The body of an armed youth was found in the debris of the house.
Immediately after this, 4 Kashmiri youths were martyred in heavy firing on a house of the Indian Army in Farisam area of Kulgam, while an army officer was also killed in retaliatory firing.
The spokesperson of the Indian Army has claimed that two militants are still hiding somewhere in this area, to search for them, the area has been cordoned off.
There are also reports of firing near a camp of Indian soldiers in Rajouri district in which one soldier was injured. According to initial reports, terrorist attack was attempted on Manjakot army camp throughout the night.
In occupied Kashmir, the Indian Army was overwhelmed after facing three attacks in a single day. Army bases, police stations and outposts were issued red alert. Security has been tightened.
