Rawalpindi: 45 officers and personnel of Punjab Police were allegedly involved in drug trafficking activities, the details of which have come to light.
IG Punjab has issued action orders against the involved officers and personnel. Additional IG Operations Punjab gave orders to the DPOs of the districts including CPO Rawalpindi and Gujranula through mail.
It has been said in the post that action should be taken against the officers and personnel involved in drug trafficking activities whose list is being provided and a detailed report should also be sent to the Sendal Police Office regarding the final situation after taking action.
The list includes the names of officers and personnel from constable to ASI, sub-inspector and inspector level, while the names of current and former SHOs and outpost in-charges are also included.
Besides, the list includes two sub-inspectors from Rawalpindi, one inspector from Attock, 4 sub-inspectors, one ASI and one constable. Police officers and officials from Lahore, Gujranullah, Hafizabad, Mian Chanu, Pakpatan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan are also involved.
According to CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani, SSP Operations Hafiz Kamran Asghar has been appointed as the inquiry officer regarding the two sub-inspectors of Rawalpindi Police included in the list, action will be taken according to the findings of the inquiry.
