ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports recorded an increase of 10.65 percent in the last financial year and its volume was recorded at about 3 billion dollars.
According to the data of the federal government, the volume of exports in the last financial year was 30 billion 66 million dollars and during this period, a 10.65% increase in exports was recorded.
Pakistan’s exports increased in a number of products, including food, textiles, cement and sports goods.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, an annual record of 7 billion 36 million dollars worth of food items was exported, the exports of rice, fruits, vegetables, meat, spices and oil seeds increased by 46%.
Exports of the textile sector increased by 0.93% to exceed 16 billion 650 million dollars, raw cotton exports increased by 316%, cotton yarn exports increased by 13% and chemicals exports increased by 8%.
The statistics agency said that the volume of exports of chemicals was about one and a half billion dollars, cement exports increased by 40.36% to 26.65 million, petroleum and coal exports increased by 80% to 40 million dollars.
Exports of Pakistani football increased by 7.41% to $254.4 million, exports of plastic materials, canvas footwear, medicines, engineering goods and jewelery also increased.
