Islamabad: After the implementation of the federal budget for the current financial year 2024-25 in the country, the trend of increasing inflation rate continues for three consecutive weeks.
In the recent week, the weekly inflation rate in the country increased by 0.76 percent while the annual inflation rate increased to 24.36 percent.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics has released a weekly report on inflation, according to which 29 essential items have become more expensive during the week and only five items have decreased in price. Chicken prices increased by 10 percent and powdered milk by five percent, eggs by three percent and potatoes and garlic by two and two percent respectively.
According to the weekly data report, the inflation rate increased by 0.76 percent on a weekly basis, the annual cumulative inflation rate has been recorded at 24.36 percent.
The report stated that the cost of chicken per kg increased by 38 rupees 29 paise during a week, after which the price of chicken per kg increased from 373.25 rupees to 412 rupees. A bag of 390 grams of dry milk became expensive by Rs 44 89 paise and eggs per dozen became expensive by Rs 6 78 paise.
According to the data, during the recent week, garlic became expensive by 10 rupees 42 paise per kg, while pulses, fresh milk, sugar, rice and curd are also included in the expensive items, while tomato is 7 rupees 29 paise per kg and banana is 3 rupees 62 paise. Money became cheap.
The report further stated that during the recent week, onion, dal masoor, LPG are among the cheaper items, while the prices of 17 items including bread, cooking oil, tea leaves, cigarettes remained stable.
