Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the formation of a 20-member committee to improve government performance and bring about changes in bureaucracy.
According to the details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a 20-member committee to improve the performance of the federal government and bring about improvements in bureaucracy.
The committee will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The members of the committee will include various businessmen, technocrats, former and current World Bank officers and some retired bureaucrats, in addition to several politicians.
Some of the names of which are: Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Federal Minister for Petroleum, Federal Minister for Information Technology, while the politicians include Sherry Rehman of the Pakistan Peoples Party and former Revenue Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan, while other members include Secretary for Economic Affairs Salman Ahmed, Secretary Finance, and former World Bank President Abid Hassan.
In this regard, the Cabinet Division has issued a notification according to which the committee will submit suggestions to the federal government regarding increasing cooperation and communication between various government institutions and providing prompt response to government priorities.
The committee will submit its first report to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif within a month.
In its report, the committee will review the performance of the federal secretariat, as well as the obstacles in the decision-making process and formulate suggestions for their resolution. In this regard, help will also be sought from the New Zealand and Singapore government framework models.
In addition, the committee will also prepare a plan under which it will also submit recommendations for the development of an integrated system for obtaining information and information at a government level in a phased manner, through which transparency in the system will be ensured.
