Batting first on the invitation of Ireland in the first match of the one-day series played in Belfast, Sri Lanka scored 260 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Vashmi Gunaratne scored 101 runs for Sri Lanka. Hasini Perera 46, Harshita Samaravkarma 19, Sugandika Kumari 18, Anushka Sanjeevani 17, Kausha Dilhari 16, Nilakshika Silva 13 and skipper Chamari Athapatthu were out for 0 runs.
Sachini Nisansala scored 17 and Achini Kulasuriya scored 3 runs to return to the pavilion not out.
Orla Prendergast took 3 wickets for Ireland Weems. Alana Dalzell and Arlene Kelly each went 2, while Elise Tector struck out 1.
Ireland in reply achieved the target of 261 runs in the 50th over for the loss of 7 wickets.
Orla Prendergast stood out with a brilliant innings of 122 not out. Amy Hunter 42, Sarah Forbes 30, Rebecca Stokel 19, Arlene Kelly 12, Captain Gabby Lewis 9, Leah Paul 7 and Elise Tector 0 were all out.
Jane McGuire returned to the pavilion not out with 7 runs.
For Sri Lanka, Kausha Dilhari took 4 wickets while Achini Kulasuriya and Udishika Prabodhani took 1 wicket each.
