Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that he wants to increase exports from $30 billion to $60 billion in the next 3 to 5 years.
Giving an interview to the American news agency Bloomberg, he said that he wants to increase exports from $30 billion to $60 billion in the next 3 to 5 years. In the last 12 to 14 months, significant progress has been made for the improvement of the economy. The government has taken important decisions to reduce inflation and interest rates.
The Finance Minister said that the government has stabilized foreign exchange reserves, will further accelerate the privatization process, will continue the process of reforms in government institutions, and is doing right sizing to reduce the losses of government institutions. Right sizing will bring a clear reduction in government expenses.
He said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wants sustainable and stable economic growth, the government has controlled the double deficit, the current account deficit and the fiscal deficit have come into surplus, and is prioritizing public welfare by reducing government spending.
He said that Pakistan can play an important role in promoting trade, he wants to increase Pakistan’s trade partnership in the region, and it is possible to increase Pakistan’s exports by promoting trade in the region.
