ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has once again clarified that Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are not being blocked in the country.
In a statement issued by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the PTA rejected media reports that plans were being made to block VPNs, however, the PTA said IT companies, software houses, freelancers, Banks and other businesses have been requested to register the VPN they use to ensure uninterrupted internet services in case of any interruption.
PTA added that businesses can register their VPN through PTA and Pakistan Software Export Board websites, the process is free and takes 2 to 3 days.
