ISLAMABAD: In connection with the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, security arrangements have been tightened in the federal capital and all roads leading to the red zone have been sealed.
According to Islamabad Traffic Police, Park Road has been closed at Bani Gala and Rawal Dam Chowk from Club Road.
Similarly, Faisal Avenue at Faizabad Interchange, IJP Road to I8, Kashmir Highway to Convention Center and Bara Kahu to Murree Road have been closed.
Entry of all types of heavy traffic has been closed in the federal capital from October 14 to 16, while a public holiday has also been given at the local level. Traffic flow will be affected at different times in the twin cities.
It should be noted that the 23rd summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will begin today, in which the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, along with the Indian Foreign Minister, will participate in the conference.
