Opener Saim Ayub, who suffered an injury during the tour of South Africa before the ICC Champions Trophy, has been waiting for his return to international cricket.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided an important update on the fitness of young batsman Saim Ayub, stating that the opener is making rapid progress in recovering from an ankle fracture and will continue his rehab in England.
After a detailed MRI scan, X-rays and medical examination of the cricketer, he has been ruled out of all playing activities since the date of injury (January 3 for 10 weeks).
After reviewing the MRI scan, X-rays and medical reports, the doctors have given him 10 weeks of rest.
Similarly, Saim Ayub’s availability for the New Zealand tour will be considered after passing all the fitness tests.
Pakistan is scheduled to tour New Zealand from March 16 to April 5 to play a series of 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs.
Later, the national team cricketers will return home to participate in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
