Tel Aviv: Anti-government protests broke out across Israel regarding the Gaza war, in which thousands of people, including the families of prisoners, participated.
Relatives of Israeli citizens imprisoned by Hamas also participated in these protests against the government for the first time. The largest protest took place in the capital, Tel Aviv. The family members say that now there will be no protest separately but there will be a struggle together.
Protesters blocked major roads resulting in severe traffic jams and stranded commuters. The police arrested dozens of people and used water cannons to disperse the protesters.
Clashes broke out between protesters and police in occupied Jerusalem. The protesters tried to break through the police barriers and reach Prime Minister Netanyahu’s house and shouted slogans of resignation.
The hostages’ families and protesters accused Netanyahu of obstructing a deal with Hamas to release the hostages. He said that Netanyahu’s role in solving this problem is incomprehensible and criminal. Anna Zanguker, the mother of one of the hostages, said that from now on we will start the struggle for Netanyahu’s removal.
