California: Technology company Meta has unveiled plans to send messages to third-party chat for its WhatsApp and Messenger users.
The change, introduced for the European Union, will introduce new options to keep WhatsApp and Messenger messages in the same inbox as third-party chats or separately.
According to reports, Meta had started working on the third-party chats feature after the Digital Marketing Act (DMA) came into effect last year.
Under the DMA, large companies and platforms are mandated to ensure the services of third parties instead of monopolizing them.
The company will also add an option to create groups with other people in third-party chats from next year.
