Technology company Meta has announced the lifting of a key ban on gays on its social media platforms, including Facebook.
According to the report, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that freedom of expression is being expanded on Facebook and other Meta platforms.
According to Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement, the company has lifted the ban on calling gays ‘mentally ill’ or women ‘property’ on its social media platforms.
Meta’s CEO said that our goal is to ensure that people can freely exchange their opinions and experiences through our platforms.
In addition to lifting the ban on freedom of expression, Mark Zuckerberg has also removed the chain of fact checks by third parties from its platforms. Now users will see ‘community notices’ instead of third-party fact checking on social media platforms.
Mark Zuckerberg’s lifting of the ban on anti-gay comments is also being heavily criticized by the LGBT community.
