Surat: Anti-Muslim riots broke out in the cities of Bharuch and Surat in the Indian state of Gujarat, as a result of which many people were injured and 27 people were detained.
According to Indian media, motorbikes and property were set on fire in the Muslim population in Bharuch city of Gujarat state.
Several people, including women and children, were injured in the attacks by extremist Hindus armed with sticks and rods. The attackers were chanting Jaishree Ram slogans.
The tension started when the extremists prevented the installation of flags and banners of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi.
Later, these flags were taken down from some areas, which caused a wave of anger among the Muslims.
A similar incident also happened in another city of Gujarat, Surat.
In these two incidents, the Indian police, showing partiality, started arresting only the Muslims as an example of scolding the thief Kotwal.
So far, 27 people have been detained, most of whom are Muslims.
