Gwadar: The Gwadar Airport, equipped with modern technology and completed with Chinese financial support, has become ready and functional to play a role in the economic development of the country and the province.
In an interview with the Chinese News Agency, Manager Gwadar Airport Khalid Kakar said that this is a major airport in Pakistan and its architectural design is amazing. The hard work, dedication and passion of Chinese engineers and architects in its completion is commendable.
He said that this airport will play a significant role in cargo transportation in addition to passenger flights, for which a warehouse is under construction, five more warehouses will be built in the future, making Gwadar Port a major hub for cargo transportation.
The responsibility of operating the new airport will be taken over by staff trained from China. Senior Engineer of China Railways, Qin Rong, said that water shortage was a major challenge during the construction of the airport. Tankers were used after failure to find groundwater.
