Islamabad: The federal government has increased the price of petroleum products for the public for the third consecutive time.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Finance Division, the price of petroleum products has been increased by a total of seven rupees per liter.
According to the notification, the price of petrol per liter has been increased by one rupee, after which the new price per liter has increased to 257 rupees 13 paise.
The government has increased the price of high-speed diesel by 7 rupees per liter and high-speed diesel has become expensive to 267 rupees 95 per liter.
The notification states that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reviewed the price of petroleum products in the light of recent changes in the international market and has determined the price.
It should be recalled that the government, in announcing the new prices of petroleum products on December 31, had made petroleum products more expensive for the public from January 1 at the beginning of the new year and had increased the price of petrol by 56 paise per liter.
Later on January 15, the price of petrol per liter was increased by another Rs 3.47 paise and high-speed diesel was also increased by Rs 2.61 paise.
