Due to the concession in customs duty, the prices of imported goods from D-8 countries are likely to reduce.
According to the FBR, imported goods include food, drinks and daily necessities, and goods will be imported into Pakistan from seven countries at lower duty.
The decision to reduce import duty is likely to reduce the prices of products, a notification has been issued for concession in customs duty on import tariff lines from eight countries.
Concessions have been given for Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria and Turkey, the FBR will reduce the duty on imports of goods from these countries in a phased manner.
The FBR says that in 2026, customs duty on imported items will be reduced to 12.50 to 20 percent, FBR
In 2027, customs duty on imported items will be 11.25 to 17.50 percent, and in 2028, customs duty on imported items will be 10 to 15 percent.
