The Anti-Narcotics Force and local institutions in Balochistan have launched a major campaign to eradicate poppy cultivation and drug dens. This campaign is ongoing under the direct instructions of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Balochistan government.

The aim of this campaign is to rid Balochistan of drugs and permanently eradicate this scourge. Poppy crops have been destroyed in many areas during systematic operations.
Operations have also been taken against networks involved in the production and distribution of drugs. Alternative employment opportunities will also be provided to completely thwart the nexus of drug networks and terrorists.
By providing alternative sources of employment, the local people will be prevented from cultivating drugs again. It is the need of the hour to adopt an effective and sustainable strategy to break the nexus of drugs, crime and terrorism.
This nexus provides strength to this entire network. The war on drugs is a national responsibility.
