KARACHI: Devon Conway and Finn Allen also turned down New Zealand’s central contract.
However, Conway has followed in the footsteps of former captain Kane Williamson by signing a general contract, making himself available for internationals other than the white-ball matches against Sri Lanka.
The series against Sri Lanka is scheduled for January, but Conway will likely represent the Joburg Sparks in the South African league in the meantime.
On the other hand, hard-hitting white-ball opener Finn Allen will now earn dollars in the franchise leagues after freeing himself from the shackles of a central contract.
Finn Allen has not been offered the same agreement as Conoway by New Zealand Cricket, but he will also be eligible for national team selection if available.
