Lahore, March 27, 2026: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called on citizens across the province to actively participate in the global “Earth Hour” campaign on March 28. She announced that lights will be switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM as a symbolic step toward promoting energy conservation and environmental protection.

Maryam Nawaz also appreciated the role of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in prioritizing environmental issues and raising awareness among the public. She encouraged citizens, particularly the youth, to take part in the campaign and contribute to global efforts aimed at reducing energy consumption.
To ensure effective coordination of the initiative, the Secretary Environment has been designated as the focal person, while Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb will oversee the campaign’s implementation across Punjab.
The Earth Hour campaign, observed worldwide, aims to unite people in a shared commitment to protect the planet through small but meaningful actions.
