California: Technology company Apple has issued a warning to iPhone users from 98 countries, warning them of potential spyware attacks. This is the second warning issued by the company this year. Earlier in April, a similar warning notification was issued to users in 92 countries.
Apple has been sending these notifications to customers in more than 150 countries on a regular basis since 2021, according to a support document on the company’s website. It did not reveal the identity of the attackers or the countries of the users who received the notification.
In the warning, the company wrote that Apple has identified a mercenary spyware attack that is targeting users and attempting to break into iPhones linked to users’ Apple IDs.
Apple added that this attack could potentially happen because of who you are and what you do. Although detection of such attacks is not conclusive, but the company is confident in its warning, please take it seriously.
