California: Technology company Apple is possibly working on a foldable iPhone device whose screen will automatically heal scratches and dents.
Apple’s rivals like Samsung, Google and OnePlus have already introduced foldable smartphones and are now in the process of improving these designs.
For example, the Samsung Galaxy Flip and Fold 5 has a slightly thinner screen, which reduces the notch in the middle and allows the phone to fold better.
Apple has presented two foldable iPhone prototypes in its new patent and the company may also be working on a foldable iPad.
Due to the thin screens, foldable smartphones are more prone to scratches and marks. Also phones become more fragile and can break easily.
To solve this problem, the company is going to put a layer on the screen that will be able to fill in these marks automatically.
A foldable iPhone with a thin screen is expected to arrive by 2026.
