Over 11.182 kilograms of Weed and 3.616 kilograms of Cannabis recovered from the accused

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully foiled a major drug smuggling attempt at Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) by arresting a British Citizen of Pakistani origin, once he arrived at Islamabad Airport from Thailand.
During the baggage inspection, ANF officials recovered 11.182 kgs of Weed and 3.616 kgs of Cannabis, tactfully concealed in different types of packing materials. Seized drugs are valued at approximately 1 Crore 6 lac PKR.
During the initial investigation, the accused revealed that he was to smuggle the recovered narcotics to Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).
He further disclosed that he had an accomplice in Dhudial, AJ&K, who was involved in selling drugs to students of educational institutions (EIs) and other young individuals.
A case has been registered against the accused under the CNSA-1997, and further investigation is underway.
This arrest highlights the alarming rise in the use of Weed and Synthetic Cannabis, which are increasingly being used to target the youth.
The ANF remains fully committed to preventing the infiltration of narcotics into educational institutions.
