Head coach Jonathan Trott, who led Afghanistan to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup for the first time, spoke interestingly about the South African team before the important match.
Former English cricketer and head coach Afghanistan cricket team Jonathan Trott said that the Afghan team has reached the semi-finals for the first time, but everyone knows the history of South Africa, they come close to the trophy on important occasions and lose.
The Afghan team has never reached the semi finals of any event and they have no history, these players want to make history and will play with everything they have while our opponent team can’t handle pressure on important occasions which we know and This can make us win.
The South African team lifted the Champions Trophy in 1998 but have not won any ICC tournaments since then, losing to Australia in the 1999 World Cup semi-final is one of the bitterest memories.
Trott, who will take over as head coach in July 2022, says he is surprised by the tilt of the Afghan players.
It should be noted that the Afghan team has qualified for the semi-finals by defeating big teams like New Zealand, Bangladesh and Australia in the T20 World Cup.
