Islamabad: Acting President Yusuf Raza Gilani approved the bills passed by the National Assembly and the Senate regarding the increase in the tenure of service chiefs and the number of judges.
After the signing of Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, all the six amendment bills have become law, all these laws have been sent for gazette notification.
It should be noted that the National Assembly and the Senate approved six bills on Monday under which the term of the Army, Naval and Air Force chiefs has now been increased from three to five years.
The Senate and the National Assembly also approved the bill to increase the number of judges of the Supreme Court to 34 and the number of judges of the Islamabad High Court from 9 to 12, which was approved by the President.
