The Supreme Court of India has rejected Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea to dismiss the case.
According to Indian media reports, the Supreme Court has rejected the plea filed by Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez in which she requested to dismiss the Rs 200 crore money laundering case.
This case has been filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has been linked to the accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who is Jacqueline’s ex-boyfriend, who has been arrested on charges of alleged fraud and extortion.
It may be recalled that actress Jacqueline had earlier filed the same plea in the Delhi High Court in July, after which she approached the Supreme Court.
The case against the actress began in August 2022, when a case was registered against Sukesh Chandrashekhar with the Delhi Police. The accused is accused of trying to extort money from the wife of a prominent businessman in exchange for her husband’s release by falsely claiming to be a senior official of the Union Law Ministry.
On the other hand, Chandrashekhar gave extremely expensive gifts to his alleged girlfriend Jacqueline, due to which the actress was also named by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case of 200 crore Indian rupees.
